Last Month’s Meeting

kick_up_the_sixtiesOur New Year got off to a great start when Alan Haines presented A Kick up the Sixties. It was an entertaining mix of humour, nostalgia and a host of long forgotten facts from that decade. The photograph shows the opening screen of his presentation.

Below is an enlarged view of that opening screen.

kick_up_the_sixties_screenWe all sang along to the selection of early television commercials which followed, and most of us remembered the words!. This set us in the right mood for the rest of the presentation which included newsreel footage, music and Alan’s lively commentary. A glass of wine, a bite to eat and much conversation rounded off what all agreed was an excellent evening.

February Meeting

Solleys_ice_creamSolley’s have been making ice cream for thirty years. Eighty five percent of their ingredients are sourced from within Kent and their milk comes from a local jersey herd. At our next meeting on 19th February Stephen Solley will tell us about their manufacture of ice cream. The meeting will be at 7.30 in the Village Hall.
