Christmas 2018 Newsletter

EXHIBITION THANKS - The GMS would like to say how much it appreciates the efforts of everyone who contributed to the success of the Great Mongeham War Heroes Exhibition. Whether you offered brains, brawn, time or technical expertise, we are very grateful. The feedback from the visitors has been most encouraging and we hope it will lead to more people joining and enjoying the society.  The teas raised the sum of ninety pounds for the British Legion Poppy Appeal.

AGM- At our AGM in November a few changes to the committee were agreed. Flowers were given to Sylvia Bowsher and Diana Knight as they relinquished their roles of Membership secretary and Events Organiser. The society has greatly benefitted from their diligence and efficiency. A small rise in the membership fee was agreed to £10, which equates to less than £1 a meeting. The increase will be used to cover the rising costs of speakers.

ELECTION OF COMMITTEE: Diana Knight (President) asked Moyra Carey if she was willing to stand as Chair. Moyra accepted.

Diana asked Sally Larrigan if she was willing to stand as Membership Secretary, Sally accepted, Diana then invited any other members who wish to stand. No other interest shown.

Diana asked the other existing Committee Members if they would stand again. John Swales, Steve Chappell, Margaret Fox, Jennie Esposito, Willy Lane, Pauline Turner and Diana Knight. All agreed to continue.
